My story

I’m Paul – the drummer and the person behind Muddy Farm Guitars.

My spraying adventure started shortly after school in a small garage where I learned how to make cars look shiny and respectable. Then life happened, drums, bands and Madchester scene took over.

Fast forward a few years and I somehow found myself repairing and spraying trains. Yes, trains. Big ones. Loud ones. It rekindled my love for the craft, but I realized I preferred working on things that didn’t require a ladder and a safety briefing.

So, it's why some time after the trains I moved on to guitars — much smaller, much friendlier, and far more fun to transform. I started spraying for a local guitar shop and quickly remembered how satisfying spraying can be.

After a short break (and a long list of ideas rattling around in my head), I decided it was time to bring those ideas to life. That’s how Muddy Farm was born: a place where I create hand sprayed guitar finishes with character, colour, and just the right amount of unique look.

And here’s the rule I live by:

I always ask myself if I would buy what I’ve just sprayed.

If the answer isn’t a solid yes, it doesn’t leave the workshop.

No exceptions.

No “it’ll do.”

It stays until I’d happily take it home myself.

These days, I put everything I’ve learned into making instruments look as inspiring as they sound.
